They That Wait…

In the waiting it can seem as if God is not hearing you and that it's taking a very long for that thing or things to manifest but In the wait there’s an exchange between you and God. You may ask how could this be so? In Psalm 27:14 KJV Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

The psalmist is encouraging us that God will enable us for journey and to trust in God. There’s a building of faith, courage, and strength. In the patience God is doing a perfect work according to James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. In the wait we are becoming mature in the things of God. We are growing to become more like Christ and to be image barriers. I remember as child, I would always want a cookie or a sweet treat before dinner and my Mother would say "you have to wait until after dinner or you will ruin your appetite.

As a child I could not comprehend why she would say this. It was not until I became a mother myself that I completely understood. Having an awareness of what I was eating and what I was giving my children shifted my perspective of things and with this knowledge I then knew why she would have allowed me to eat the sweet treats before dinner. I would have only had empty calories that would soon faded making me hungry, requiring me to eat again.

Often time God will allow us to wait because he knows the set time, what’s best, and what's ahead. In every season of life we should be content. Could it be that maybe God is blocking something from us? I never thought of it from this point of view! Today, lets allow God to perfect somethings concerning us. Now there's a stance for each of us to take on.  As good as a father that he ;he has our best interest at heart. Delayed does not mean denied! I was always given a treat after dinner; it was about the proper timing. The timing of God is very important. Wait I say on the Lord.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11 KJV. It's coming to pass for you and I. So, in the wait... we stay in expectation of God to fulfill his word that he has declared over our lives!!! Today may your strength be renewed! You will not faint; you will not get weary! Hold on to what God has spoken!!  But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 KJV
